Vision:

  • To promote active learning and critical thinking associated with ethical values, and to produce globally competent Physicists furnished to address real-world challenges, promoting them for the up liftment of the society.

Mission:

  • To provide quality education in both theoretical and experimental physics.
  • To improve the quality of learning and increase the impact in development of the society.

PO1Disciplinary knowledge: Capable of demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and understanding of one or more disciplines that form a part of an undergraduate Programme of study
PO2Communication Skills: Ability to express thoughts and ideas effectively in writing and orally; Communicate with others using appropriate media; confidently share one’s views and express herself/himself; demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, read and write analytically, and present complex information clearly and concisely to different groups.
PO3Critical thinking: Capability to apply analytic thought to a body of knowledge; analyse and evaluate evidence, arguments, claims, and beliefs based on empirical evidence; identify relevant assumptions or implications; formulate coherent arguments; critically evaluate practices, policies, and theories by following a scientific approach to knowledge development.

PO14Leadership readiness/qualities: Capability for mapping out the tasks of a team or an organization, setting direction, formulating an inspiring vision, building a team that can help achieve the vision, motivating and inspiring team members to engage with that vision, and using management skills to guide people to the right destination, smoothly and efficiently.
PO15Lifelong learning: Ability to acquire knowledge and skills, including „learning how to learn‟, that is necessary for participating in learning activities throughout life, through self-paced and self-directed learning aimed at personal development, meeting economic, social, and cultural objectives, and adapting to changing trades and demands of the workplace through knowledge/skill development/reskilling.

PSO1: Placement: To prepare the students who will demonstrate respectful engagement with others’ ideas, behaviors, and beliefs and apply diverse frames of reference to decisions and actions.

PSO2: Entrepreneur: To create effective entrepreneurs by enhancing their critical thinking, Faculty can create POs based on their curriculum or adopt from UGC or University for their Programme) problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills that will facilitate start-ups and high-potential organizations

PSO3: Research and Development: Design and implement HR systems and practices grounded in research that comply with employment laws, leading the organization toward growth and development.

PSO4: To produce employable, ethical, and innovative professionals to sustain in the dynamic business world

Globe Shine 2k23

We the Department of Physics and Sir C.V. Raman Club in association with Department of Chemistry and Mathematics organized Globe Shine 2k23 on occasion of National Science day celebration on 28th February 2023 in JP auditorium. We celebrated the National science day for remembering the Raman Effect of the greatest Indian scientist Sir C.V.Raman. The program was celebrated by a seminar, Science expo, Inter collegiate paper presentation and science theme based cultural.

PTA Meeting

We, the Department of Physics conducted a first parent’s teacher meeting in the academic year 2022-2023 on 03.12.2022 at Physics laboratory for our 1st year student.

Industrial Visit

We Department of organized a Industrial Visit to Vikram Sarabhai Space centre at Thiruvananthapuram on 17.02.2023 for I,II,III year students. The IV mainly arranged for the students to get more knowledge about space physics, different types of satellite launched by Our India and collaboration with other countries (Russia and America).

National Seminar

We, the Department of Physics and Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited) successfully jointly organized a one day National Seminar on "Nuclear Energy for Sustainable Development of India and a Solution to Climate Challenges" at the occasion of Celebrating DAE Iconic Week – 2022 held on 25 th August 2022 at JP auditorium.
